A demonic start

Aren't power-conference teams supposed to beat up on their early-season non-conference opponents?
Apparently someone forgot to tell the DePaul Blue Demons, who have started the season with two bad losses. After losing by 20 to a Bradley team that is at least decent, DePaul managed to score only 39 points in a 10-point loss to perennial Big-10 doormat Northwestern.
It's not like the rest of the Big East is mired in mediocrity, either. The remainder of the conference is a combined 22-1 for the season. Even lowly South Florida, which finished last year at 7-22 with an anemic 1-15 conference record, is 1-0 right now.
Let's hope the Blue Demons can get back on track for the rest of their non-conference schedule.
