Ott to transfer

Ott, a 6-10 redshirt freshman forward, saw action in four games, most recently last Saturday in Villanova's 81-71 win at Syracuse. He averaged 0.8 points and 1.3 rebounds per game in a total of 16 minutes of action.
Ott's transfer opens up another scholarship for Jay Wright's recruiting efforts.

so we have no one big again
I think this could probably be a good thing as long as jay uses this extra recruit for a big guy. Andrew never really played or anything, so its not too big of a loss, as long as we can get a good solid big guy out if it.
Remember bilal benn? i wish he was still with us, he was prettty good. Too bad he transfered to niagra!
No big man = no success as we have seen with the absence of Drummond. Jay is a good recruiter, so he should take advantage of this open big man spot.
Just out of curiosity, where is Ott going?
I've heard Penn St but have no official word
jay will get another guard i bet.
Yea Bilal Ben went to my highschool he was pretty sick. Wish he stayed to develop longer.
Oh yea Pete did you catch that Rutgers vs Pitt game?
No, but I saw that Rutgers won
This conference is so crazy.
This is no doubt a good thing. there is no reason that a scholarship should be wasted on the bench. As much as I liked Ott's hustle, he was never going to be a factor for Villanova.
Are there any good unsigned big men out there???
finally some good news
Good for Ott. He should have been kicked off before he had the chance to transfer.
Ott was tall and ambulatory. Although not much of a contributor this year, he had potential (Note that Cassiem was not much of a contributor last year).
Failure to keep Ott (and failure to recruit front court players over the past few years) sets an unfortunate tone (true or not) that the 'Cats can't recruit / retain / develop big men.
Note: Per Rivals.com, 'Nova has no current recruiting prospects over 6-8 through 2010. Maybe Jay will shop for a transfer.
