Three cheers for the groundbreaking new feature here at Let's Go Nova, a new poll every Friday. Each week, we will give you a new poll question, and mention the previous week's poll results.

Please vote in the poll on the right sidebar on any Let's Go Nova page or in the flash poll below.

Feel free to discuss this week's poll or last week's results in this thread.

July 11 poll: Who is your favorite player on the team this upcoming season?

Last week's poll
asked which Big East home game you were most excited about for next year. As expected, Villanova's top rival Georgetown ran away with the contest, notching 39 of 64 votes for a filibuster-proof 61 percent. Louisville and Pitt tied for second with 8 votes each, and Syracuse was the fourth-most-anticipated home game.

Check back next Friday for this week's results and the next poll.

I voted for Scottie Reynolds. He struggled a bit at times last year, but he is such an exciting player, especially when his shot is falling.

It was a close call between Reynolds and Fisher.

Can anyone guess who I would have voted for last year?

I voted for Antonio Pena. I was at a camp at Villanova, where were watched the team scrimage each day, and Pena seemed to have improved greatly. He was attacking the rim and dunking in traffic, hitting contested fadeaways, and also had many timely blocks.

I would have voted for Taylor King because his shooting stroke was exceptional. During one game that lasted about 15 minutes, he was 7-9 from three.

I voted for Scottie because he has the ability to take over a game, but I really wanted to vote for Dwayne Anderson too because I like how he dances.

this is coool!

I voted for Dante, he has been my favorite since he was a freshman. He puts his heart and soul into every game and works so hard to win. I don't think he gets the appreciation he deserves, i was surprised (and delighted) to see him being tied for first.

However, i think most of the players on this team are noteworthy. Dwayne Anderson reallly showed a lot of improvement last year and definitely deserves praise. And obviously Scottie is a front-runner, but my god all of the players deserve some love!

And Pete, i'm just going to throw this out there, i'm sure its wrong, but would you possibly have voted for Malcolm grant last year? (don't worry, i would've too)

I have always appreciated Scottie's ability to score -- he isn't pretty, but he gets it done, Dwayne's persistence because it finally paid off and Dante's season-over-season growth as a front court player -- he will never take over a game, but he was in so many crucial (but under-appreciated...) plays last season. But if the team is going to build on the momentum from last season's Sweet Sixteen run, then Corey Stokes will have to start off next season the way he finished last season. Kid has great form and range and he will have to show everyone else how dangerous he can be on offense. If he does that, he will be the favorite for a lot of fans. All of the rising sophomores (Fisher, Pena and Stokes) will have to improve over their work last season. They seem to have the potential to do that, let's hope they have the work ethic too.

Well said, Greycat! I think another player that deserves some recognition is Cas. He started off last season phenomenally and he could've had a great year. It's a shame that he had to go through those injuries, but if he recovers well he could have a huge impact on the team this year. It would also be really nice to see Shane Clark snap back into action. I don't exactly remember (its been a long few months) but he showed some signs of life toward the end of the season, did he not?

Yes, I felt guilty (after the fact) about not mentioning Cas. Some may argue about "quicks" versus front court presence, but the 'Cats were not an outstanding rebounding team last season (they were 2003-07), and that made a difference, both on offense and defense. Casiem gives Nova credibility in the paint.

I voted for Dwayne Anderson, but it was a dead heat between him and Dante Cunningham. These guys work so hard out there. Dante has basically been playing out of position for most of his college career and has still managed to get the job done against bigger and stronger players. Dwayne Anderson has paid his dues and is now a crucial part of the 'Nova bsaketball team. His intensity and hustle really inspired the team last year, in my opinion.

We are lucky to have these two rising seniors in Villanova uniforms. They're very good players and even better representatives of Villanova.
