Villanova's annual Hoops Mania pep rally is set for Oct. 24 at the Pavilion. If you've never experienced this Villanova basketball tradition, check out last year's coverage of Hoops Mania 2007.
This year, Let's Go Nova will be doing some live micro-blogging from the Pavilion for the rally and the intra-squad scrimmage. Until then, we just have the anticipation of the year's most boisterous Villanova love-fest.

It's hard to imagine Hoops Mania was at the Jake Nevin Field House four years ago... and it was only three-fourths filled to capacity. We have come a long way...
i think they should make it for students only.. its unfair when little kids and people from the community get in and students who wait in line for hours don't
They want it to be as big of an event as possible so its open to everybody. Plus it wouldn't be half as crowded if it was only open to students.
all students who arrive before a certain time should get in, and then they can open it to the public....
There has to be some recruiting news.
We're still recruiting Cheek... that's about it
If the arena were bigger the student issue wouldn't exist. I think maybe the public shouldn't be allowed in but definitely students & alumni (not allowing season ticketholders or members of the waiting list in would hurt the school's alumni relations and financial support)

where was the LGN wach pack reminder? This was last year's reminder: http://letsgonova.blogspot.com/2007/10/six-wachovia-tickets-now-on-sale.html. We didn't get any love this year. Is LGN fading away?
Can you buy tickets advance for Hoops Mania, or do you have to wait on that extremely long line?
On scout.com, it lists Dominic Cheek's visit to Villanova as October 24th, which is the same day as Hoops Mania. That is a good decision by Jay Wright. It will be interesting to see if anybody spots him.
who are the special guests this year?
according to vuhoops.com the special guests are BizZ (corey stokes brother?!) and LUPE FIASCO!

i think pete is taking a break from LGN and is working on letsgomalcomgrant.com for the upcoming season.
Dom Cheek will definitely be there. I have been following his recruitment on www.zagsblog.net.
He was at Kansas' "Midnight Madness" last weekend, so we really have to make him feel at home!!! A few chants with his name will really help. I am sure he will be right behind the bench.

Sorry, everyone! Been a bit busy lately, but we will be back in full gear on Nov. 5 for the Northwood preview and the start of the season the next day.
