PC scored 18 points in the final 59 seconds... that is a pace for 732.2 points per game.

I think it's cause Malcolm Grant was playing for providence

Typical Pete.

Okay, big picture first. Nova beat a good, experienced Big East team on the road. This wasn't going to overtime against a bad SH team, or losing a heartbreaker at home to Louisville. They did what they had to do.

More specificaly, there was some sloppy play in the last 10 minutes, but the main factor in the comeback is that Providence was making their threes. There is just a limit to what any team can do to counter a streak like that. Moreover, it isn't really fair to jump on Nova for the last 10 minutes and ignore the first 30, where they were excellant.

On an even bigger picture level, Nova came out of what looks now to be the tough half of their BE schedule 6-3. I'd be very surprised if they don't at least duplicate that in the second half of the season.

Wow...did they really? I missed the game because of work. Saw Nova up 18 and then winning by only 3. 18 points in 59 seconds is ridiculous. No wonder they score 90+ on the regular.

And Pete's complaining about Wright sitting Reynolds was borderline insane. Reynolds played 37 minutes. A three minute rest (total for the entire game) is harly unreasonable. And would an exhausted Reynolds have been as effective as he was in the last minute? Remember, Nova scored a lot in that last minute as well (12 points), and it was mostly Reynolds (8 points in the last minute).

And in the half a minute (Three+ possessions) that Reynolds sat, PC scored 18 points -- and Nova was forced to burn a timeout to get Scottie back in there after a made basket, because the Wildcats didn't have any point guards in against a smothering press.

Genius.

anonymous i'm sure pete would love to take you to dinner if you could just build up the courage to ask... it's a blog and your an idiot

i agree the reynolds decision needed to be rethough, i think jay was terrified of scottie fouling out which would have left redding as the only ball handler left, in that respect his idea made sense

Why don't I just ask you out B. Will you go out with me?

Pete,

The problem was that Fisher fouled out, leaving them with only one ball handler. That was hardly Wright's fault.

So you would have left Reynolds in for every second after that? That is why they (don't) pay you the big bucks. I'm sure Wright would have been thrilled to have Reynolds in for the entire game - if he was a robot. But his is a young man, and the SMART way to coach is to give kids a breather. And it worked out - he was fresh in the last minute, and basically won the game for Nova.

Pete, the problem isn't that you criticize Wright. The problem is (a) you do so in a sometimes hilariously illogical manner, or (in this case) (2) you display an amazingly poor understanding of the game.

Pete, 37 minutes, you fucking moron. He played 37 fucking minutes.

Hey, I call it like I see it. This site is my opinion. It's not my job to be PR man for the team, nor would I want to under a coach like Wright.

PR man for the team??? WTF? Dude, you would not be suitable to carry the team's dirty laundry. Please, everyone, delete this dumbass's bookmark and replace it with I Bleed Blue And White. I'm done with this dope.

Who is this perfect dream coach of yours, who goes undefeated and wins national championships every year, that you hope to hire once your goal of firing Jay Wright is achieved?

I never said I wanted Jay Wright to be fired... I just said I would never want to be his PR man.

Fouling out? We were up by nearly double digits in the final minute of the game. The final minute. That is not a time to worry about fouling out. That is the time to put the game away. Instead, Jay went offense-defense that last 1 minute, and allowed 18 points. So I guess that didn't work so well. Also, what was Jay's plan on a made basket? Burn a timeout every time?

37 minutes doesn't mean squat -- Scottie missed 4 or 5 possessions at the most important moment of the game.

There's really not much one can do when Curry is throwing up and hitting 40 footers like its his job. Do you really think it would have been wise to go out and guard him there
