Villanova was overmatched in a loss to #6 Texas, 67-58.

Villanova's official Web site has the recap and a notebook feature on the game.

We'll be posting our full recap with player grades Wednesday afternoon.

Until then, feel free to discuss the game in the comment thread below.

One more item: Reliable sources now confirm that hyper-recruit Dominic Cheek will make his college announcement 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Cheek is down to just two schools: Villanova and Kansas. If Villanova lands Cheek, the 'Cats will have the best recruiting class in the nation and will be a national title contender next year.

if Dwayne's ankle holds up today, I fully expect him to take Corey Fisher's starting spot against St. Joe's.

I wouldn't say they were overmatched. Everybody played poorly with the exception of Cunningham, obviously.

I agree with Greg. I think to say Villanova got outclassed is a bit strong. The Cats were within striking distance throughout the game. I realize Texas' defense forced several of Nova's 19 turnovers, but more than half of them were completely unforced. The stregnth of Nova's team-- Stokes, Scottie and Fisher-- combined for just 21 points. I think if Nova played a cleaner game and was able to get its guards involved earlier, they would have won this game.

When will Jay Wright learn the following:

1) Defense in critical, but you need to have scorers - Redding, Clark and Anderson in the game at the same time just won't work

2) Reynolds is a terrific shooter but he is not strong or quick enough to play the point. Give Fisher a chance to distribute.

I agree with Anon & Gregg.

We have a very good team and this was our first step up in competition.

They took 10 more shots than us and shot a slightly better percentage. We were also slightly under our FT percentage made. We shot terrible from downtown.

We make our normal percentage from the line, we shoot a slightly better FG %, maybe throw in a couple of 3's that go down, and the outcome is different!

Man, that Cunningham is 5 STAR talent!

I hope we shake if off on Thursday night!
