Wildcats to face Tigers in battle of predatory felines Thursday

#21 Villanova returns to the Wachovia Center Thursday to face Louisiana State as part of the first annual Big East/SEC invitational. (Unless otherwise noted, this site always uses the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' poll.)

The game will air live nationwide on ESPN Thursday night at 9:30 p.m.

LSU of the SEC is the second BCS-conference team the 'Cats face so far this year, after a disappointing and controversial loss to ACC-member N.C. State 11 days ago.

LSU is 5-2 and has some decent athletes on its team. Villanova, though, will be favored, and should win this game, especially considering the Wildcats' overwhelming superiority in the backcourt.

That doesn't make any sense. You imply that Nova is tiger bait, inferior to tigers, but then predict an LSU win? Unless the analogy you were going for was that we were going to bait the tigers into a trap -- but still, the bait gets eaten by the tiger.

I bet none of you predicted the way the LSU-Nova game would end...haha...one for the ages! One of the worst things about the game was Tyreke Evans was behind the Nova bench for the 1st half and looked extremely disinterested (as most of the fans did as well with their poor play), and he left just before the 1st half ended no to return....not good

That was one of the strangest games I have ever seen. I even turned my television off in total frustration just a few minutes into the second half. Luckily I resumed watching, and saw the greatest comeback in Villanova history. Malcolm Grant is the man!!! However, our guards need to utilize their off-ball and on-ball screens to get open much more effectively than that.
