Following the bubble Saturday

Well, Villanova looks to be in barring total disaster.

Here are the outcomes to root for today, in chronological order. The most important games are listed in bold.
  • Memphis over Tulsa
  • Kentucky over Georgia
  • UNC over Virginia Tech
  • Illinois over Minnesota
  • St. Joseph's over Temple
  • Kent. St. over Akron
  • Pittsburgh over Georgetown
  • Mississippi St. over Georgia

Note: Last night, the desired outcome of the Kentucky-Georgia game was for Georgia to win. That has all changed now. The name of the game is to keep as many at-large spots open as possible. Kentucky is now pretty much an at-large lock, and Kentucky was already ahead of Villanova. The Wildcats are now rooting for the Wildcats in the rescheduled game.

What difference does it make if Pitt beats Georgetown? Not that I mind rooting against them.

UNC is scaring me... still down w/ 10 mins to go.

Pitt over Gtown barely matters but it slightly improves Nova's win against Pitt.

Although, if GTown were to blow out Pitt it also makes our loss to GTown look better. I don't know if that affects our numbers in a positive manner, but I think the committee might look favorably on us if it took a top-10 team who wins the BE by a blowout to knock us out.

Dodged a bullet with the UNC game. Vatech is now out.

Despite what Vitale says, Vatech is not in bubble consideration.

Vitale has no credibility anymore, in my opinion.

Why do we want kentucky to win against Georgia. Nova has a better resume then Kentucky now. Kentucky Rpi is 60 while Novas is 49 now. We just pulled ahead of them with them losing to georgia.

I'd rather have Georgia definitely out than Kentucky taken down a notch. Now Kentucky is roughly equal to Nova. If Georgia lost, that's one more guaranteed at-large spot.

Nonetheless, if Georgia loses to Miss. St. tonight, then it was the absolute best scenario for Nova to have Georgia win and then lose. However, Georgia is now 40 minutes away from Villanova having to sweat out TWO power conference finals tomorrow; would like to avoid that at all costs.

I concur. I think that Kentucky losing is a GOOD thing, b/c it will only bring their lackluster and sub-par resume back under light.

UK has a win over Tennesee, but there's not much else.

So it comes down to St. Joe's (ughh) and Wisconsin..

You just know that Temple is going to beat St. Joe's just to piss Nova fans off.

This is a pretty cool website.. tracks all of the self proclaimed bracket "experts". Based on this, we are very much on the bubble based on what has happened so far.

I think that even if St. Joe's, Kent State and Wisconsin win AND Georgia eventually loses, we are still only 50%. It will be very interesting.

Those are the things that NEED to happen to have a real shot.

you know what believe, youre right. every 11:11 the past few days, ive been wishing that we'll make it (because im a stupid girl like that.)i definitely think we deserve to be in, but what happens will happen. Gill's right too, we're going to be good next year.

Jay promised me that in person. from the best of my memory i quote, "thank you all for sticking with us, i know this hasn't been pretty. But we're going to be good. we're going to be really good."

No margin for error now..

Wisconsin and Arkansas must win or else do not bother watching the selection show for Nova's name.

St. Joe's killed us twice this year.

Looks like the boys should just focus on trying to win the NIT.
