8:30 p.m., Friday, 28 November, at the Palestra
TV: None

After cruising to a win against low-major Monmouth University earlier this week, Villanova opens bracket play in the Philly Hoop Group Classic with a matchup tonight against Towson.
For Villanova, center Casiem Drummond should return from a one-game suspension for a disciplinary issue. Senior swingman Dwayne Anderson remains out with a foot injury.
Towson hails from the recently vogue Colonial Athletic Association, and so far the Tigers have amassed a 3-1 record. Towson's only loss came on the road against common opponent Niagara by a score of 79-62.
Twentieth-ranked Villanova should win easily tonight in its first game away from campus.
If the Wildcats win, they will face the winner of Penn State and Rhode Island tomorrow in the Palestra. Should disaster strike and Towson pulls off the upset, Villanova will face the losing team tomorrow in the loser's bracket.
The game will not be televised, but audio may be available through Villanova's gametracker service.
Be sure to take a look at the Villanova by the Numbers game preview.

I live in the Virgin Islands and went to see the Villanova womens team play in the Paradise Jam yesterday. They did not play very well and lost to Wisconsin by 2 points. They play Baylor today. I was disheartened to see virtually no fan support. About five or so people came down for the tournament. Most of the other schools had a bigger fan attendance. I don't even know if Villanova organized a fan group to come for the tournament. The team does not look to be veryb good and is a long way off from playing on a comparable level as the mens team does. I see that Perretta has been there about 30n years as coach. I think it's time for a coaching change. Perhaps they should try and hire one of the good young assistant coaches at UCONN or Tennessee. Both of those schools have high quality mens and womens programs. We should try and become nationally competitive in womens basketball as well. Anyone have thoughts on this?
One could argue that it is tougher to get down there on a Thanksgiving Holiday given its family-time orientation and brevity. Also the alumni body of Nova is much smaller than that of Wisconsin's. I would worry more about filling up home games before I worried about games in the Islands. How many fans went to the Old Spice Classic for the men last year? Not many from what I could see on TV. Paretta has done some good things for 'Nova like stealing a Big East title from UCONN and ending their undefeated streak. To be honest, I am not a fan of women's basketball. It is not as fun to watch. So you won't find me at many games in the Pavillion let alone the VIs. Lets win another 6 NCAA titles and get through 5/6 undefeated seasons on the men's side before we worry about the women.

nova 89
towson 68
why would some go to watch the women's team at teh paradise jam on the holiday?
I've heard from inside sources that the coaching staff has given him warnings that if he doesn't work hard in practices, etc, he will be sent home and be asked not to play. This was last summer, so I'm not sure if they are still doing this. They do not tolerate laziness, which Cas has displayed a lot of. So yes, anonymous, that is a possibility.
