Villanova to find mythical Cupcake City tonight

#17 Villanova (7-0) vs. Houston Baptist (0-6)
7:30 p.m. at the Pavilion
TV: Channelsurfing or media player
(NOT WORKING as of 7:40 p.m....)
Audio: HBU radio
Line: OFF

Villanova returns to the Pavilion tonight for an easy on-campus tune-up before heading to New York next week for the Jimmy V Classic against Texas.

Houston Baptist is a small school in southwest Houston playing its first full year of division one basketball.

The Huskies are winless on the year, but have played an ambitious schedule so far, including games at Marquette and vs. Illinois St.

There is no line available for the game, but if I had to set one, I'd make it Villanova -36.

Take a look at VBTN for its excellent game preview. VUhoops also runs some interesting statistics for the match-up.

You may also predict tonight's final score in the comment section below, if you dare.

You know what's sad, is that we always have to rely on our opponents' radio... here you have a 2200-student school, in its first year of division one, and they have a perfect web radio link.

Villanova can't do this?

that radio link doesnt work for me. any other ideas?

You have to open that radio link in a windows media player-compatible browser or player. So if it doesn't open in your browser, try it in windows media player itself (right click on the link and paste it into WMP) or if youre on a mac use VLC

i'm glad to see (well hear) the balanced scoring right now.
and yeah pete, i agree. there's no reason that we shouldn't have a radio broadcast, its really not okay.

VLC? Will it work in quick time?

It might work in quicktime if you've installed Flip4mac-- not sure -- just download VLC, that's what im using and it works perfectly.

“While The Pavilion is usually loud and packed to the top of the bleachers, there were plenty of open seats. The Palestra was a few thousand short of capacity for Villanova’s win over Penn on Tuesday, a sure sign that Wildcats fans would rather come out and root on the home team only when they’re playing a competitive team.”

Pete,
I feel your worst fears are becoming reality. 1st we lose Grant, then Ott, then Cas. The "family" is breaking apart and now the team has even begun to lost its fans. It time to strip your wall of the 'nova diploma, shut down the blog and root for the SEC...

The Wildcats had come close to scheduling a big-name opponent that shall remain nameless. But that fell through, through no fault of Villanova's. So Houston Baptist became the opponent, because the Wildcats needed one more game and had no other options.

Who could this game been against, anyone know?

Yes, I would have been against Auburn.

Pete,
Ever since Grant transferred the World Economy has slipped into a recession. What is to blame? Jay Wright's coaching. My diploma is off the wall, I threw away my season tickets and I sit waiting for this blog to shut down. Villanova Basketball is just not worthy and our world economy is more important.

according to vuhoops.com dom cheek is going to announce sometime in this week. Nova getting Cheek would put them over the top. They'd be a top 2 recruiting class, and start next year top 10 with or without reynolds. Hopefully Dom chooses wisely
