'Nova sets sail vs. Navy tonight

Villanova returns from its longest layoff this season for a Christmas cupcake match against Navy at the Pavilion tonight.

The Wildcats remain at #18 in the AP poll this afternoon after having the week off.

Navy hails from the Patriot League and is sitting on a respectable 8-3 record. The Midshipmen are coming off a bad loss against an atrocious Canisius team, however, and should pose no threat to Villanova's holiday celebrations.

I have yet to see a book set a line for this game yet, but I would set it at Villanova -23.

Villanova played terrible defense and allowed Navy to stay in the games via undefended threes. That's what happened.

Also, while the middies did shoot 50% from behind the arc, it was obviously Jay's plan to clog the middle. He was successful in that as Navy was 2-14 in the paint in the first half.
