His latest video, available below in the traditional embedded YouTube player, focuses on Villanova's Scottie Reynolds, he of the late-game NCAA tournament heroics this spring.

I give that video a solid A, but no A+, because it gives insufficient credit to the most magical moment of the 2008 -- or ANY -- World Series, Taylor Swift's national anthem in Game 3.

Well, not really.
Although Villanova's 2009 Final Four opponent, North Carolina, represents a loaded memory to most Wildcat fans, none of the current Villanova players were around for the 2005 team's Sweet 16 loss to the eventual national champion Tarheels.
The 2005 loss is a particularly brutal memory for Villanova fans, because the game turned on a very questionable -- "phantom," even -- traveling violation on star Villanova shooting guard Allan Ray, just as he put in a basket that would have brought the 'Cats to within one point.
Instead of calling an "and-one" foul, as many fans expected, the official whistled Ray for traveling, thus ending the season of the upstart 2005 Sweet 16 Villanova team.
Then, as now, Villanova was a heavy underdog to what looked to be an unstoppable Carolina team, loaded with future professionals at nearly every position.
That didn't faze the 'Cats so much in 2005; let's hope the 2009 team can play with a similar swagger on Saturday.
The 2009 version of Villanova-North Carolina is scheduled for an 8:57 p.m. (EDT) game time on Saturday.
Villanova defeated the top-seeded Pittsburgh Panthers tonight in Boston to earn a trip to the Final Four after one of the greatest, most epic, and most nerveracking games in Wildcat history.
It was fitting that a game featuring a ridiculous 10 ties, 15 lead changes, and 66 AP photos would come down to two last-second shots -- one rimming in, and one bouncing just high off the backboard after time expired.
Facing a tied score and a possible overtime with the Wildcats in severe foul trouble, Villanova guard Scottie Reynolds dribbled nearly the length of the floor to put in the winning floater with half a second left. The play will no doubt go down in Villanova and NCAA tournament history as one of the greatest winning baskets ever.
Reynolds's brilliant shot put the Wildcats ahead, 78-76, which was the final score after Levance Fields's desperation heave from 65+ feet bounced just errant off the backboard, way, way too close for comfort.
Although the entire game was an instant classic, the last few minutes were especially amazing. With a little over three minutes to go, Villanova trailed by four points, and Pittsburgh had the ball. Chances of a comeback seemed slim.
Dwayne Anderson, though, had different ideas, as he stole the ball and put in a crucial and-one layup -- and hit the foul shot. That play itself should be considered one of the most clutch sequences in Villanova history.
Then, up by two points with 13 seconds left in the game, Villanova called timeout before attempting to inbound the ball on its own baseline. Instead of simply inbounding the ball safely and shooting free throws to put the game out of reach (Villanova had made an astounding 22 of 23 fouls shots), Villanova and Reggie Redding executed one of the most boneheaded plays in NCAA tournament history.
Redding attempted to hit Dante Cunningham for the "home-run" play, throwing the ball almost 90 feet and nearly out of bounds. Not only did the play turn the ball over, it did not run much time off the clock.
I don't know if that was the play drawn up by Jay Wright in the timeout, but it seems likely it was, given Cunningham's home-run trajectory -- and Redding's eagerness to roll the dice. You cannot fault Jay Wright too much, however, as it was a good coaching job to even have the team in position at the end to potentially put the game away.
The inbounds play, in my mind, ranked right up there with Chris Webber calling timeout with none remaining in the 1993 championship game. Had Villanova lost this game, it would have been in the parthenon of all-time NCAA tournament errors. Thankfully, that did not happen.
Villanova proceeded to foul Levance Fields on the ensuing Pitt possession with just over five seconds remaining, which was nearly as bad a decision as Redding's inbounds throw.
After Fields calmly sank two free throws, the prospect of overtime looked grim for the 'Cats, who were beset by front-court foul trouble.
But then Scottie Reynolds made a play that will be included in NCAA tournament highlight reels for decades to come, and the rest is history.
Villanova advances to its first Final Four since the 1985 NCAA championship.
All in all, Villanova's last-second win over Pitt concluded one of the greatest basketball games in recent memory. I would argue that it topped this year's six-overtime thriller between Syracuse and Connecticut in the Big East tournament, simply because the game meant so much more and ended much more closely.
Personally, I have never rooted so hard for a sporting event in my life. It will be difficult to ever top this game for young Villanova fans -- but the Wildcats have the chance to do just that next weekend.
Right now, though, the win stands for me and many other young Villanova alumni as the greatest basketball game ever seen. The game, of course, triggered racous celebration on Villanova's campus (video).

Villanova awaits the winner of Sunday's North Carolina-Oklahoma regional semifinal. I like the Oklahoma match-up much better for the Wildcats, so I'll be a Sooner fan tomorrow.

Reggie Redding (S, 36 min)
Redding's solid 36 minutes risked being overshadowed by his foolish inbounds with 13 seconds left. Luckily, Villanova won the game, so Redding's effort can be properly appreciated. Redding shot 2-6 from the field to score 5 points. He was the only Wildcat to miss a free throw, shooting 1-2 in the game's closing minute. He co-led the team in rebounds with 6. Redding added 4 assists, 2 turnovers, 2 steals, and a team-high 3 blocks. His overall defense was excellent. Redding is the heart and soul of a surging Final Four team. No top grade, because of the end-game sequence and small offensive impact, but Redding's tenacious defense earns him an above-average rating. Grade: B-
Scottie Reynolds (S, 33 min)
Reynolds hit the game-winning shot in one the great finishes of NCAA tournament history. As Jay Wright said after the game, they will be replaying that basket when Reynolds is 40 years old. Reynolds's clutch play is even more amazing when viewed through the lens of his mediocre shooting night. Scottie shot 4-11 overall, and 0-3 from the three, and the team still won. Reynolds definitely seems bothered by his sore right wrist. Hopefully the full week's rest between now and the national semifinal will allow the wrist issue to fade away. Reynolds was perfect tonight from the foul line, a cool 7-7. He did not handle the ball very well, committing 4 turnovers, but of course he handled it well when it counted. Even though he shot 4-11 with 4 turnovers, no steals, and 1 assist, how can I not give Reynolds an excellent grade after one of the biggest shots in NCAA tournament history? Grade: A-
Dante Cunningham (S, 30 min)
Cunningham picked up two fouls with over 8 minutes remaining in the first half. I emphatically diagree with the decision to sit him the rest of the half -- this was for a Final Four, after all, and you have to trust your senior not to commit an additional foul before halftime. As such, Villanova's arguably most important player was limited to just 30 minutes. Cunningham was not able to stop Blair, who scored 20 on 9-9 shooting, but he did manage to score 14 points of his own on decent 6-11 shooting. Cunningham pulled in a lower-than-usual 5 rebounds, and added 2 assists, 2 turnovers, and 1 steal. Whether Villanova next faces UNC and Tyler Hansborough or OU and Blake Griffin, Cunningham's next assignment will be the toughest and most important one of his career. Grade: B-
Dwayne Anderson (S, 28 min)
Despite how good Dante Cunningham has been the last three years, Dwayne Anderson is the senior I will miss the most next year. His play in the NCAA tournament run has been astounding. Tonight he was easily the player of the game, and he made play after play to keep Villanova competitive. As mentioned, what's lost in Reynold's game-winner was how crucial a play Anderson's steal and three-point play was. Anderson shot a good 5-10 tonight, inlcuding 2-6 from the three and a very nice 5-5 from the foul line. He grabbed a team-high 6 rebounds. He also led the team in steals, with 4 of the 6 Wildcat picks overall. It was an amazing performance, and Villanova will miss Anderson's hustle, athleticism, decision-making, and resourcefullness next season. Grade: A
Shane Clark (S, 26 min)
I've got to hand it to Clark. He has been much-criticized in this space in his career, but he saved us tonight. Clark scored in the first half when no one else seemed able. He shot a good 4-7 overall, including an amazing 3-4 from the three. He notched 4 rebounds and committed just 1 turnover. Excellent hustle play from Clark, whose late-season emergence has been one of the bigger reasons for Villanova's improvement. Grade: B+
Corey Stokes (23 min)
As predicted in the Duke recap, Stokes improved his shooting considerably against Pitt in the second game in the arena. Here is hoping that he will have the chance to play two games in Detroit's Ford Field stadium. Tonight, Stokes shot an excellent 3-4, including 1-2 from the three. He showed he could put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. Stokes added 2 rebounds, 1 turnover, and 1 block. I still think Wright subs Stokes in and out too frequently for him to develop an optimal rhythm. Stokes, though, will need to be a reliable scorer in the next game if Villanova hopes to advance to the national championship. Grade: B
Corey Fisher 18 min)
Fisher only received 18 minutes tonight, but they were 18 huge minutes, and he was on the floor when it counted at the end. Earlier in the game, Fisher initiated one of the most entertaining plays I have ever seen. He dove to the floor for a loose ball and tipped it behind his body to a trailing Reggie Redding, who proceeded to make a fantastic pass to Reynolds in the corner. Reynolds pump-faked, getting his defender airborne, before driving baseline to make a very nice reverse layup. Without Fisher's extraordinary hustle, Villanova would not have had those two points. Fisher shot poorly again tonight, just 1-7. But where he really shined was on the foul line, where he was a perfect 7-7, including a pair of ultra-clutch late-game trips. He added 4 big rebounds for a 6-foot guard, and handled the ball reasonably well, dishing for 2 assists while committing 2 turnovers. Grade: B+
Antonio Pena (6 min)
Pena contributed 6 decent minutes, and while he did not have any impact on the box score, he absorbed two personal fouls that would have disqualified any of Villanova's other frontcourt players. Grade: C

Well, it shouldn't have been this exciting, but Villanova escaped with a win over a Navy team audacious enough to make 14 (mostly open) three-pointers. The Wildcats eked out a 78-68 victory that was much closer than the final score indicates.
Sometimes good teams have off nights, and hopefully this was one of them for the Wildcats. If Villanova plays with the same kind of lax defense and lack of urgency in the Big East, the 'Cats could well be NIT-bound.

Next up for Villanova is coach Jay Wright's birthday on Dec. 24. He turns 47. After the holiday, The Wildcats have a home date with Temple on Dec. 29 in their Big 5 finale.
Villanova returns from its longest layoff this season for a Christmas cupcake match against Navy at the Pavilion tonight.
The Wildcats remain at #18 in the AP poll this afternoon after having the week off.
Navy hails from the Patriot League and is sitting on a respectable 8-3 record. The Midshipmen are coming off a bad loss against an atrocious Canisius team, however, and should pose no threat to Villanova's holiday celebrations.
The Wildcats cruised to an easy victory tonight against the winless Fordham Rams, putting up 107 points on Fordham's porous defenses.
Fordham had no answer to the inside prowess of Dante Cunningham, who notched a career-high 31 points. Villanova used its superior size and speed to find easy shots, converting 35 field goals on 60 attempts. Over 65 percent of Villanova's baskets resulted from assists, which is an excellent ratio. The Wildcats also took care of the ball and committed just 9 turnovers.
Villanova's defense seemed to improve in the second half, when the Wildcats held Fordham to 11-29 shooting and 30 points.
On the sour side, Villanova allowed Fordham an unacceptable 65 shots, and forced just 11 turnovers from the overmatched Rams. The Wildcats also revealed a potentially fatal flaw in their team depth -- with Fisher and Reynolds both off the floor, the team has no truly competent ballhandlers to break a press or even run an offense.
Reggie Redding is the emergency third point guard, but he looked awkward against the juvenile Fordham press. One does not have to wonder how the Wildcats will stand up to a full-blast press from Louisville or Marquette this year if Fisher or Reynolds become unavailable -- it would be a disaster.
And thus the folly of losing Bilal Benn and Malcolm Grant -- both good ballhandlers -- to transfer in consecutive years. Absent Corey Fisher and Scottie Reynolds, the Wildcats simply have no point guards left. Might Villanova be the only top-25 team with just two ballhandlers on the entire roster? I think so. And if one of those two guards gets hurt, the Wildcats won't be ranked for long.
On an injury note, forward Shane Clark was cleared to play and ran 16 minutes tonight, just 11 days after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. Center Casiem Drummond was out with foot pain, but Jay Wright said in his postgame remarks that Drummond would be ready for Wednesday's game.

Corey Stokes (S, 31 min)
Stokes could barely miss tonight. The Rams were allowing him open looks, and he made the most of them. Stokes was 3-3 from behind the arc, 4-6 from the field, and 6-6 from the line to score 17 points. He grabbed 8 rebounds and added 2 assists, a steal, and 1 turnover. The only downside for Stokes tonight is it still looks like he is having trouble putting the ball on the floor. Stokes's shooting, however, finally appears to be living up to its billing, and he may well lead the Wildcats in scoring on the season. Grade: A-
Corey Fisher (S, 30 min)
Fisher's speed, handle, and passing have become essential to the Wildcats' attack. Splitting the point with Reynolds, Fisher tonight made good decisions with the ball and was effective on both ends of the court. He dished out 4 assists, and, more important, committed just 1 turnover. He shot better tonight from long range, draining 2-4 threes, and shot 4-10 from the field. Fisher was a good 7-8 from the foul line, impressive there in both his accuracy and his frequency getting to the stripe. Fisher added 2 steals to a solid defensive effort. Grade: B+
Dante Cunningham (S, 29 min)
Cunningham exploded for a career-high 31 points on 11-17 shooting from the field. Cunningham also reached the free-throw line 12 times, converting 9. Fordham could do nothing to stop Cunningham inside. Though he won't find conference play nearly as easy, Cunningham's performance tonight was an important step in establishing the Wildcats' inside game. Cunningham and Pena played well together on the blocks, forging an inside chemistry that has been lacking at Villanova for years. Cunningham also led the team in rebounds, with 11. Grade: A
Antonio Pena (S, 24 min)
Pena is quickly becoming one of my favorite players. He put in an efficient performance tonight, scoring 10 points on 4-5 shooting. He looked great moving up and down the post, and connected with Cunningham several times for easy looks. He grabbed 6 rebounds and passed for 3 assists. Pena also ran the floor well; it's become clear that fast breaks are a key component of his game. Pena's inside-out style suits the Wildcats' free-flowing system well. Though he has the tendency to disappear for stretches, Pena's development is a real bright spot for the 'Cats. Grade: B+
Reggie Redding (23 min)
Redding was pressed into point-guard duties tonight after Reynolds sat with early foul trouble. I suspect Jay Wright also sat Fisher during that stretch to see what the team could do without either of its point guards. Redding's handling of the point was passable but not pretty. But if it was passable against Fordham, it probably would be a nightmare against Rick Pitino. Still, you can't blame Redding for the Wildcats' lack of ballhandling depth. Redding played well overall tonight, shining as the undisputed leader late in the game with the Wildcat starters out. He shot 4-5 from the field and 1-2 from the three to score 9 points. He passed for 4 assists and committed just 1 turnover. He added 4 rebounds but did not get a steal. Pressure defense is something for Redding to work on as the season progresses. All in all it is a good thing the Wildcats have Redding to bail them out with ballhandling, but let's hope it doesn't come to that. Grade: B
Scottie Reynolds (S, 22 min)
Reynolds picked up a pair of questionable fouls early, and those fouls combined with the blowout limited him to an uncharacteristically low 22 minutes. Reynolds struggled a bit scoring-wise, shooting just 3-9 from the field and 1-4 from the three. I'm not particularly worried, however, as Reynolds has proven beyond all doubt he is an excellent scorer and shooter. Where Scottie really shined tonight was in distribution. Reynolds racked up 7 assists in basically half a game, while committing just 1 turnover. Perhaps his ratio will go down a bit against serious competition, but after two games it is clear that Scottie is taking great care of the ball and finding perfect spots to dish it off. Reynolds also added 2 steals in a fine defensive effort, ticky-tack fouls notwithstanding. Grade: A-
Shane Clark (16 min)
It was good to see Clark out there and injury-free just 11 days after knee surgery. Clark played well, shooting 3-5 from the field and 2-2 from the line to score 8. Clark has missed a lot of practice, so it was good for him to get extended playing time in the blowout. We'll see how his knee holds up during the rest of Villanova's brutal November schedule. Grade: C+
Frank Tchuisi (14 min)
Tchuisi played better tonight, converting on his two uncontested shots. His free-throw form looked awful, however, which is something to work on at practice. Tchuisi only managed to collect one rebound despite playing 14 minutes at center against an undersized Fordham team. He committed 2 fouls but did not turn the ball over. Grade: D
Jason Colenda (6 min)
Colenda, the walk-on guard, has to deal with deafening applause every time he touches the ball, as the student section apparently wishes for him to put it up any time he is across halfcourt. I watched Colenda closely tonight during his 6 minutes while he split the point with Redding, because it is plausible that due to a combination of fouls or injury, the Wildcats at some point this season may have to rely on Colenda to bring the ball up the court. My conclusion is that Colenda can indeed dribble and make passes, but he panics way too much in the face of defensive pressure. Though Colenda may be quicker and smaller than Redding, and thus less prone to having his pocket picked, it is a stark contrast to watch Redding coolly step back from an overzealous defender, while Colenda suddenly treats the ball as a hot potato in the same situation. The good news is that it's a problem that is easy to correct if Colenda simply keeps his dribble going and takes a deep breath. Grade: C-
Russell Wooten (5 min)
We didn't get to see much out of Wooten in his 5 minutes tonight. He did not attempt a shot, and looked very uncomfortable with the ball on the offensive side of the court. Like Colenda, he seems to have a tendency to panic with the ball when defended. Wooten runs the floor well enough and did not make too many major mistakes on defense. Grade: C-

Sean Donovan, the Villanova video maverick, released a new highlight reel this week that spans the history of Villanova basketball.
The video, called "For Those About to Rock," is a six-minute romp through the archives of Wildcat basketball. The video is set to the AC/DC anthem which shares it name.
The highlight compilation features incredible black-and-white to color transition technology. Donovan has done it again, hitting another home run with well timed cuts in pace with the music.

Just in time for the NCAA tournament, the Villanova highlight video kingpin Sean Donovan is back with a new montage of the 2007-2008 Wildcat season.
In the new video, Donovan makes extensive use of stop-motion and fast-forward special effects, like a master craftsman honing his wares to ever-higher summits of technical achievement.
The video is set to Sum 41's "Underclass Hero," an appropriate choice for the 2008 Wildcats, who do not have a senior on their roster. It should also be noted that the band's front man, Deryck Whibley -- AKA the luckiest man on earth -- is married to Avril Lavigne.

Here's a great find by the bloggers over at I Bleed Blue and White -- the Villanova recruit Tyreke Evans in a short promotional film/commercial for Zipway athletic pants.
The commercial, which also appears on the official Zipway site, depicts Evans working out on an outdoor basketball court, while the former NBA star John Starks jogs through a city. Shots of an unrelated soccer player are also shown.
Starks, formerly of the New York Knicks, co-founded the Zipway brand earlier this year. The company promises its pants feature a revolutionary technology allowing them to come off in "0.03 seconds."
I am no expert in media-appearance rules for high-school athletes, but a little quick research leads me to believe no violations are committed as long as the high-school athlete is not paid for the appearance.
Evans looks good in the Zipway commercial, but it would be even nicer to see him in a Villanova uniform.

Sean Donovan unveiled today another one of his Villanova basketball highlight reels, the sixth in a series created by Donovan and Kyle Laskowski, his classmate.
The latest video, called "Welcome to Nova Nation," juxtaposes highlights from the Wildcats' 1985 national championship run with clips from last season, 2006-2007. The moving pictures are set to "Welcome to the Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance.
The video, is very nicely done, and the production values seem to have gone a notch upward as Donovan further masters his medium.

Let'sGoNova reader Sean Donovan, the tireless video chronicler of Villanova athletic culture, is at it again this summer with another 2005-2006 Villanova basketball highlight reel.
The three-and-a-half minute video is embedded here from YouTube (below), or available to download as a 50 MB Windows Media Player file.
The new video, which features "No Way Back" by the Foo Fighters as the background music, is arguably the best 'Nova highlight movie since the widely circulated "Love and Memories" video last year. Donovan's "Top of the World" video is also a worthwhile watch.
The Lowry clip at the 1:55-remaining mark is particularly enjoyable as one of the most amazing plays of that year. Enjoy.

So after the two straight losses and the news of beloved alum Allan Ray being sent to the D-League, I thought you all needed a taste of good news.
Check out this video below, courtesy of the geniuses at BigEastHoops. Scottie Reynolds just takes over the game for a stretch against Georgetown. Reynolds had a longer similar stretch of unreal play against Marquette, too. Enjoy.

Right after scoring 5 points in a single trip down the floor to tie the game, the #17 Clemson Tigers got robbed by the officials when #10 Duke was awarded an extra 2 full seconds on the final possession. What happened next? Duke scored with one-tenth of a second left on the clock to "win" the game. If the error hadn't been made, time would have run out 1.9 seconds prior to the winning basket and the game would have been sent to overtime, and Clemson had the momentum.
Instead, the Dukies get another batch of Cameron Indoor home-cookin' and take the win, 68-66. The worst part about the whole thing is that the referees actually took the time to review the play on the television monitors and somehow concluded that act of Clemson's catch, shot, flight, and made basket took only 0.6 seconds, contrary to any definition of common sense.
This sort of thing seems to happen unusually often at Cameron Indoor Stadium, doesn't it? And surprise, surprise, ESPN's Mike Patrick, play-by-play announcer and Duke-fanboy extraordinaire, had nothing to say about the bonus 2 seconds during the broadcast. To be fair, ESPN did highlight the error on the ensuing broadcast of SportsCenter.
Here is the key play on YouTube. The timing error is clear as crystal. Here's hoping the ACC will investigate this situation.
For those interested, here is the original, unedited ESPN broadcast of the last 12 seconds of the game. Notice how Patrick tries to advance the ridiculous argument that Clemson's last basket only took up 0.6 seconds including the catch, shot, and flight of the ball. Unreal.

With six days still remaining till the next game, this is the longest stretch all year without sweet, sweet Villanova basketball action. Our players and student fans are taking finals, our alumni are making fools of themselves at various holiday parties, and Jay Wright is preparing not only for Rider, but for his upcoming 45th birthday. In the advanced stages of Villanova hoops withdrawal, I happened to be searching YouTube for Wildcats-related clips. There are a plethora of videos available, from highlights of last year's tournament run to 50 Cent's appearance at "Hoops Mania" this October.
Below, however, is one of the oddest videos that came up. I really don't know what to make of it. You be the judge.
